What do we do with Pet Waste?

We are the only pet waste collection company that solely does curbside collection. This means that emptying your bucket is not only our top priority, it’s our only priority.

We’re the only company that composts all of the pet waste. Unlike other companies that use other disposal methods, we’re the only ones that not only allow any debris that you scoop up with the waste (sticks, twigs, bark mulch, wood chips, weeds, grass, etc.) but we welcome it. It helps with the composting process. Our composting process is very different from typical backyard composting because of the sheer volume of waste we collect.

To kill off the harmful bacteria and pathogens, the compost pile needs to reach temperatures of at least 140 degrees for minimum five days. These conditions can not be met using backyard composting methods. We surpass the recommended temperatures and hold them for several months.

How do I pay?

Each month, Doggie Detail will email you an invoice for your dog waste removal service. You can pay by credit card (follow the directions on your invoice), through online banking, or you can send a cheque made out to Doggie Detail Pet Services to the address below:

Where should I put my bucket?

On your dog waste removal service day, make sure that you have your bucket at the front or side of your house in a place that is clearly visible from the road. Doggie Detail crew members do not go into backyards for Curbside Collection Service customers. Also, please put your bucket in the same place each week.

Question 4

What if I forget to put my bucket out?

Accepted Answer

With our monthly rate, you can put your bucket out as frequently (or infrequently) as you like. We’ll be by to check each week! If you forget to put your bucket out, rest assured we’ll be back the next scheduled service day to collect your pet waste.

Question 5

Can I put small plastic or biodegradable baggies of dog poop in my bucket?

Accepted Answer

No. We ask that our customers shake out the dog waste from the bag into the bucket. Baggies, even biodegradable baggies, clog our disposal system.

What happens when it snows?

Accepted Answer

On snow days refer to our facebook page and other social media streams for updates or concerning any possible service cancellations. Please note that typical monthly fees still apply.

Cancellation of Services

Cancellation MUST be emailed and include last date of service needed along with the reason for stopping service.
